You do realise that vol 1 of TGFC is over 540 pages long? We have to be able to at least hold these things to read them? People really are underestimating just how long these novels are in Chinese let alone when they're translated into English.

It's really difficult to estimate length in printed form if you've only read an online version, especially spaced out over a long time while the TL is still ongoing but yeah, these novels are usually longer than even most readers realize.
