It's because if you QT OP misses out on likes (most people don't click through).

I still think it's a bit daft for people to get upset about being QT-ed, because it's not plagiarism or obscuring who the creator is, but it's not *completely* irrational.

Oh I see. I usually click through to see what else an interesting artist has.
You're right, it's definitely not plagiarism, but there is a ton of art out there with zero link back to the artist and that I don't approve of. Artists need their recognition like everyone else, and deserve it for their time and creativity.
