for real. as someone who knows shit all about gymnastics, when the immediate consensus was "it's good you pulled out because you could have paralyzed yourself" I was willing to take their expertise over my uninformed opinion, and it was the right take. The full explanation for what this term means among athletes left me immediately with a reaction of holy shit, she really could have hurt herself, and I'll gladly stick with that over medals or whatever the fuck OP is on about.
