I thought this was a complaint about the fringe but loud comment that "If you don't ship my ship you're homophobic!" But I am coming at it with my own bias (I have never heard of the property mentioned in the secret, much less am I familiar with its fandom). I saw a lot of that in Star Wars and as a chronic Multi Shipper and certified Fandom Old I just can't make myself care, but I can imagine someone worrying about themselves after hearing that messaging.
But yeah, comparing out-fandom views of shipping to in-fandom views of shipping are just not something you can do.
