Not OP, but I'm assuming that OP's friend was so obsessed with porn that they took one of the most the most non-horny things (Moomins) and made porn of it. Past this point, the sex-obsession only intensified further, straining the relationship between OP and their friend.

Second possible explanation I'm pulling straight from my ass: Moomin shipping made OP's friend obsessed with soft, pure bois, and uwu aesthetic to the detriment of OP and their friend's relationship.

God knows I have no clue, this is only how I, a random bystander, understood this secret.

I'm sorry. I would have assumed it was more likely to be the latter, going from what I've seen of the Moomin fandom. And here I was going through the replies to the main secret before I read this subthread and wondering why everyone was jumping to the conclusion that it was porn when the secret only said "slash."

Me personally, in most cases the pure softboi obsession annoys me more than horniness in fandom, but if it's something like Moomins that's a different story. More power to anyone who's into that, but I would probably nope out too.

Oh boy do I feel you there. I have had a couple fandom friends like that, where it went sour and I realize there were some warning signs early on that things were going to not end well, but stated independently probably most people would just go "well that's a little odd but not terrible." Because no, they weren't, but it was the beginning of a shift... which wound up being much larger.

My sympathies to you also. Always sucks when friendships end for whatever reason.
