Yeah I tend to have this view as well. Like people can ship what they like, don't care if it's off the wall and has little to no basis in the canon, I personally need more than 3 secs to work with but if other's don't that's cool, have fun.

But the moment shippers start falling into the 'it's supposed to happen!!!' rants(combined with the flimsiest of 'evidence' type posts) I immediately back off and want them to shut the fuck up and the whiner/more entitled they get about it the more aggravating I find them. It's really not hard to figure out if a ship will happen or not and a ship doesn't need to be canon to enjoy it, I have a mix of canon/fanon ships and they're all enjoyable to me regardless of that status. But very loud groups in fandom are very, very insistent that ships need to be canon to be 'valid, which is just boggling. They've valid if you enjoy them.
