Finally got one of our containers that has been stuck at port delivered. Was stuck for 3 weeks. Took 10 minutes to get my contacts in, I thought I was getting better. :(

I drove a car for the first time in 4 years!!! I lived out of my home country for 4 years and since I had no driving license there I couldnt' touch a car, but now that I've returned home I need to.
I don't particularly like driving and never did, but today it was kind of fun. Did a leisure drive with my dad and we drove to a town where we ate a delicious ice cream.

Congrats! I had a similar experience coming home after 3 years. I kinda still miss the ultra reliable big city public transportation but driving is so freaking convenient!

That's awesome, nonny! I'm glad you had some fun with it.

Today I've done laundry, washed the bedding and remade the bed (clean, fresh sheets and quilts, YAY!!!), washed dishes and cleaned the kitchen, worked out, showered, went to Starbucks and now getting ready to make dinner (pork chops and cheesy cauliflower), and watch preseason NFL football.

Day off, managed to finish a fanwork so there's that. Not really looking forward to the rest of the week when I go back to work (gonna have one of those one-on-one talks with a manager... I'm hoping it goes well, though I guess it depends on my recent levels of fail at work. I guess nothing's guaranteed, but fingers and toes crossed).

I got a new job assignment with more responsibilities and I'm really nervous about it just because I'm a really awkward person and it took me forever to get comfortable with my coworkers. Now I have to start from scratch and the nerves have been making me feel a little sick.

It's been nearly six weeks since my operation, so I planted some seedlings that I got at the local Post Office. The weather will be wet for several days, so I won't have to water them. Then I emptied six planter pots of their spent compost onto a barren patch and will get someone to dig it in, so I can plant summer veggies when the Post Office gets the seedlings. Then I had a long bubble bath. And I think that's quite enough for today.

...Later - and I just spotted four yellow-tailed black cockatoos heading towards said seedlings with fell intent, so I nipped out and covered them up. Nature can be very annoying at times.

-Made breakfast.
-Invited friends to my birthday party.
-Drafted a letter to my agency about coming back to work.
-Called my mom.
-Ordered an ink cartridge from a discount website that may or may not totally screw me over.
-Photocopied my residency documents for work.
-FORGOT MY VERY IMPORTANT RESIDENCY DOCUMENTS IN THE PHOTOCOPIER AT THE LIBRARY!!!
-Mailed a package for a Poshmark order.
-Looked up oatmeal recipes.

I'm getting so much more done than I used to get done and I'm pretty sure it's the medication I'm on for my sleep disorder. Except I think what it's doing is treating my undiagnosed ADD? Which I may or may not have??

Visited my best friend in the hospital, once I could get to him seeing as someone took me off the visitor list.

This is Philstar22. My laptop is in the shop.

So today was the most Monday of all the Mondays I've lived. I got to work, started like normal, preparing for a 9:30 client meeting. All of a sudden, the power went out. At first we thought it was just us. But we soon figured out it was the whole building. Everything was out, including phones and internet and aircon. We were told it would be 24 hours before power was back on.

So we had to call clients on our cell phones to cancel meetings. And then we got out of there because we're on the 13th floor, it was going to get really hot given that this is Texas, and the generators powering the stairwell lights would run out of power in 2 hours.

I've not ever walked down 13 floors of stairs at one time in my life until today. I'm already sore and expect to be more so tomorrow. And that was after already having a sore back from unboxing things and moving furniture around Sunday.

We found out that the construction people working in the lot next to our building cut two power lines by accident.
