I think I was more into harry potter fanfiction than i was into the actual books.

I think a lot of this is about the structure of the social Internet and how that's changed, rather than anything to do with fandom per se.

I was never into Harry Potter, but I was in a couple of anime fandoms and I do miss the way those fandoms interacted back in the day (minus the flaming shipping wars). It was just easier to talk to people.

I was never in HP fandom, but I'll add a +1 for missing how fandom used to operate. I do deeply love AO3 and wouldn't trade it for the world, but I'm not a big fan of tumblr, twitter, and discord as major fandom hubs.

I really, really miss LJ. I also miss message boards as a popular fandom hangout.

I wasn't super into fandom in the very early days, and I don't think I'd be cut out for it, having been so spoiled by how easy modern internet navigation is. But I spent a lot of years in The X-Files fandom and have a deep appreciation for how it functioned, even though I came in later (mid-00s) and only ever witnessed its glory days in hindsight.

I love 1-3 books as well as fics. Fandom was nice too however all fandoms were like that imo.

Yeah, being honest, I was mostly there for Penguin as well (not Ed so much, I only really cared about him when he was Oswald-adjacent). I liked this version of Alfred, I got surprisingly attached to Harvey, I loved Fish Mooney, and again surprisingly I quite liked Barbara once she went full Gotham. But it was mostly Oswald I was watching for.

Well, and the city itself. This version of Gotham has so many of the elements I loved from various incarnations. The weird 30s-through-90s aesthetics from the DCAU and/or the Burton movies, a bit of grimdark done right to contrast with the more recent movie efforts, the absolutely insane wackadoodle plots that could have come from either the Silver Age or the DCAU. The city felt good in this show. Proper Gotham.

lol I feel pretty much the same, though I did love a few of the other characters too (Fish, Selina, eventually Bruce, Barbara and Tabitha). But good lord did I loathe Jim. It was like the entire show screeched to a halt whenever he was on the screen. It was wildly annoying.

side note: I am just a fan, this is long term observation speaking, I love Deukae and wish them success.

I wonder if what you may be observing is potentially a small amount of plastic surgery? Obviously I'm not able to confirm or deny, but just from observation, I think Gahyeon may have had her unique upturned lip corners enhanced with some plastic surgery after Deja Vu. She'd hardly be the only one in the group doing so; Siyeon seems to get lip fillers pretty regularly.

I personally love Gahyeon's expressions and particularly the way her smile drops to a frown the second time the lyrics say "smile for me" (When you see me, smile for me, smile for me, at about 0:23), but I do think you're right that her expression is a little more limited in its variation (I think JiU is probably the most wide-ranging in her expressions).

this is one of the only comments i've seen that hasn't condemned the remake of suspiria based on nothing except the fact that it's a remake, which is refreshing. i liked the movie a lot and was also a dancer for 15+ years (i wasn't great, but i did it) so this is a secret i appreciate.
