I was never in HP fandom, but I'll add a +1 for missing how fandom used to operate. I do deeply love AO3 and wouldn't trade it for the world, but I'm not a big fan of tumblr, twitter, and discord as major fandom hubs.

I really, really miss LJ. I also miss message boards as a popular fandom hangout.

I wasn't super into fandom in the very early days, and I don't think I'd be cut out for it, having been so spoiled by how easy modern internet navigation is. But I spent a lot of years in The X-Files fandom and have a deep appreciation for how it functioned, even though I came in later (mid-00s) and only ever witnessed its glory days in hindsight.
