I think they only mean for the Japanese liking people :x but I dissagree, there's a difference between being all "ZOMG IT'S LIKE SOOO KAWAII DESU DESU NE?" and that being the extent of your japanese vocab that you flaunt and actually being serious about wanting to learn the language and knowing about the country.

They're a moron for trying to make the distinction. Yes, there are people that are stupidly in love with Japan. But so what? There's people stupidly in love with everything. It's like yelling at a guy for getting emotional over visiting his favorite football team's home field. So what?
