Britta is embarrassing but I like her, whereas Annie and her actress give me major irl "cool girl" vibes.

I have no idea about Allison Brie but I have absolutely no idea how you could get this impression from Annie. She's about as far away from the stereotypical cool girl as it's possible to be.

The Cool Girl is a trope. There's no such thing as an IRL Cool Girl. It's like Mary Sue and Manic Pixie Dream Girl. You can't have them IRL because part of the trope is them being an unattainable type of perfection.

I totally disagree with AYRT's assessment of this character and this actress. That said, girls/women try to be The Cool Girl all the time. It's a trope, but because of how it's presented in the media (and because society is sexist af) it's also real-life aspiration material for a lot of young women (at least in North America, dunno about elsewhere).

So while one cannot literally BE a Cool Girl IRL, many, many girls and women have succeeded in presenting themselves as Cool Girls--at least for a time. Which I assume is what AYRT was accusing Alison Brie of.
