Sorry, my comment cut off. Like you don't believe that cringe-inducing behaviors exist? Or you simply don't cringe at the same things others do? Like, for a famous example, if Hetalia fans dress up and do Nazi salutes at a fandom convention, that isn't cringeworthy behavior to you? I sure hope you'd consider that cringeworthy behavior!

NAYRT, but considering that most people use "cringe" the same way their moms used "tacky," I can honestly say I don't consider Hetalia Nazi roleplayers cringe. Bigoted or ignorant, depending on who is doing it and what they were thinking when they decided to go there, but cringe? Seems like an inappropriate response to a bunch of people sieg heiling around the merch table.

I said things that are harmless, specifically. I wouldn't consider the Nazi salute to be harmless.

I'm referring to cringe in the sense of people who are acting "weird," who are too enthusiastically enjoying things, who are thought to be too old or too ugly to do whatever, too openly devoted to their Special Interest in a way that other people interpret as awkward or embarrassing, who are obviously having fun dancing or singing even though they aren't technically good at it. That sort of thing.
