Agreed.

Trying to figure out if I'm bi/gay/maybe something else in the mid 2000s was rough.

I was highly aware of the sexualization of lesbians for the male gaze and suffering through my own version of "not like other girls" internalized misogyny, all of which pushed me further into the closet.
Looking back as an adult, my close female friendships in my teen years meant a lot to me because there were a lot of repressed queer feelings buried in those friendships.
