I like this in theory because it's so rare. I want all my 40-50-60-something favorite ladies to have all the love interests of men in the 20s and 30s if they want.

I hate the fact that this is so rare and subversive, while the reverse is portrayed as normal on film. This is purely a matter of misogyny. Men are allowed to be considered sexually attractive pretty much until they die, but women start getting phased into sexless "mom" roles at 35.

Older women (40-65) are so very attractive to me. I want them in sexy roles. I want them as main characters. I will watch anything with them as protagonists, especially if they get to be sexy. Some of the most beautiful actresses of my generation are in this age range, and I want to see them go wild.

I love SGA. Sorry it was a miss for you, OP. Teyla, Ford, and Ronon were certainly likeable if you didn't like John or Rodney.

I felt like John was a completely separate character to Jack O'Neill and the writers just didn't know what to do with that. Then Rodney I felt like they were living vicariously through (long suffering misunderstood genius who gets the hot girl in the end). Twyla and Elizabeth were barely more than tropes.

In the end, I felt like all the decent stuff in Atlantis came from the actors pushing beyond the shitty writing.

It's been a while since I've watched it all the way through so I might not be 100% remembering but...

For me about two and a bit seasons were ok? The first part of the first season wasn't great but then it seemed to get into its stride. But I recall quite enjoying season 2-3 and it's after Elizabeth was half-killed by that laser blast and they had to move the city where it started to go off the boil for me. It literally felt like they were making it up as they went along, which ok is a common thing for science-fiction, but it was too obvious. I also really, really hated Replicators in SG-1 sooo.

I thought there were still some good themes throughout though, like Sheppard's interactions with Todd and the ethical questions it posed (especially given what happened with Michael.) I don't think that arc (Todd) really got a satisfying resolution either iirc.

I loved the first 3 seasons, and I stuck around for S4 because I love Sam, but yeah, the characters definitely have to grow on you, especially Rodney, haha.

I usually prefer my fave to be more vulnerable so more uke/bottom if that makes sense. Switching who's top and bottom is more realistic than the fixed positions I think but whatever floats author's boat really.

oof, been there, anon. at least posting what I had on a regular schedule forced me to not give up this time and do right by my readers this time, and I finally finished a multichapter WIP that was very well received in a small fandom. do what you gotta do to hold yourself to your schedule, and accept that you'll get annoyed with it, angry with yourself, struggle a little, etc, but finding whatever formula for writing on a deadline works for you will be worth it in the end.
