I swear the one year I wasn't "super online" they started using this anti- and pro- shipper jargon. I still can't say I get it. The surface etymology doesn't even make sense because it's not really about shipping as a concept. Wtf.

Ikr!? For the longest time I thought that people were getting mad at people for shipping in general and was the reason why they were called pro-shippers.

I've been lucky not to have been involved in any of it so far, but I also tend to block a lot of people who are either getting angry about certain ships/characters in the tags or just in general seem to be a little too much into bullying people 'for the greater good.'

Yeah, agreed. It's moved beyond just shipping and into a new "let's call people a list of stereotypes, and argue with them when they object" sort of deal.

I've been avoiding learning what this was but I have been hearing about it more and more so I may watch one of these just to know what people are talking about.

OMG I thought I was the only one. That video was honestly a relief because at a certain point, I was too embarrassed to ask anyone and Googling it only made me more confused.

Same. I keep seeing these secrets and I keep going 'wtf is this?'. I have no idea, haven't seen this stuff in my own fandom spaces, and just...don't get it.
