Since March 2020 I had been out of the house less than 10 times because I have a weak immune system. I got fully vaxed about a month ago.

I finally saw a friend for the first time in like 3 years this Thursday. We were talking and I might have been a little flippant about anti-mask/anti-vax and I said something about not shedding a tear for people who are anti-mask/vax and die. And then she drops the bomb that she hasn't gotten vaxed and doesn't plan on it. She SAYS she's not taking the horse dewormer, or protesting anywhere but fuck.

While I think it's FUCKING STUPID, it's her right, I guess, and she feels pressured into it because of the talk of vaccine passports and feels she's under threat of losing her job if she doesn't "conform", and worried because one of the side effects seem to be women getting their cycles again after being post menopausal.

We didn't touch or hug or share food or anything but goddamnit. I'm angry because she didn't even tell me until we were together and I feel she wasn't going to tell me because she KNEW I probably wouldn't have met up if I had known. I just feel blindsided and angry and I have no where else to rant about it.

You perfectly right to feel angry. She put your life in jeopardy and is being extremely selfish.

If I were you, I don't think I could ever consider her a friend ever again.

Your friend is a selfish idiot and unfortunately, the pandemic is unmasking a lot of selfish idiots who were previously flying under the radar. Imagine being more worried about getting periods than dying slowly in the hospital while struggling to breathe.

You are free to be pissed. Especially if she knows about your health troubles. Maybe one day she'll realize what she did was thoughtless and unkind,

We've all been there. My partner and I made a big deal about only getting back into social gatherings because we, and everyone who would attend one, would be vaccinated. We didn't demand proof at the door or anything, why would we? Only to find out that one person wasn't vaccinated and had no intention to be. So I called a hard stop to these social gatherings, neither of us would go and we wouldn't host any more them at our home and surprise surprise that the one person finally got around to getting vaccinated. I'm still having a hard time moving on, it's a betrayal both of good sense and safety.

It is fucking stupid of her, and dangerous. I can only hope she was wearing a mask because otherwise, she was putting your health at risk.

Sorry, I'm out of patience for these kinds of people. If they want to get themselves killed, that's one thing. But there are people who can't get this vaccine for medical or age reasons. I can't understand folks who won't at least get the vaccine for those people's sake.

I'm sorry that happened to you :( Is it possible she felt like it was okay to visit you because you ARE vaccinated? Like maybe she doesn't realize that it's not 100% effective?

I'm sorry, that was a shitty selfish thing for your friend to do, and you have every right to be pissed. I hope for your sake she didn't have a viral load to share with you.
