There's a lot of silliness in the show and the sword is the least of it. If you don't enjoy that, this is probably not the show for you.

Look, Word of Honor is a show you watch because you wanna watch two dangerous idiots get soft with each other and build a found family (and, maybe, because you want to watch a murder boy have daddy issues). Obviously, I loved it.

If you're looking for a sensible plot without any gimmicks, this is not the show for you. This is 100% a Hallmark movie or a box macaroni and cheese. Perfect if you're in the mood, but not something you're going to reach for with high expectations.

All of this, this show 100% knows what it is and embraces it to a T and that's one of the reasons why I love it so much.

Generally speaking most C-dramas(and K-dramas) are somewhat ridiculous and goofy, it's part of the package, so if you're not into some level of ridiculousness then you probably shouldn't watch them because you won't enjoy it.

Personally that aspect just makes them more fun for me, but everyone's different.

Ah yes. The wobbly swords. They are (unfortunately imo) a staple in Wuxia even though I'm pretty sure there never were actually real swords that were quite that bendy used for fighting. I also think they're much more unintentionally funny rather than cool but I gave to admit that the fighting style with them opens up some potentially interesting directions. But yeah, not a fan either.
