Greed's whole thing was him screwing up most of the time, though? He murdered his own friend and was wishy-washy till he died.

I agree that Ling's stuff was a bit pushed back, but I honestly can't think of other routes that would have been as impactful. He was after the stone. There was a crazy group that had the stones. It was why he was in the country. Even if the Greedling thing didn't happen, he would still clash with that group.

I mean when he murdered his friend he had lost all his memories of his past life and didn’t know anything but following his creator’s orders. He might as well have been brainwashed into doing it
