When I was reading the manga, I did get the feeling the author was spinning her wheels a bit when it came to this storyline. It got to the point where I just felt bored seeing Greedling appear, a pretty huge contrast to how hyped I usually got over what most of the other characters were getting up to.

But when I was reading the manga, I also thought Greedling was super hot, and this image you chose to illustrate your secret reinforces that :P

Kinda makes me wish there was just a character who looked and behaved like this without all the baggage. I haven't checked out any of Arakawa's other works after FMA. Does she have any Greedling expies in those?

Oh man, I am VERY into Bridgewater! (and yes, Misha's voice is very comforting-- I'm also glad to be enjoying him in a new role)

I can't see Jeremy/Vipin as a romance, BUT, Vipin comes off (as of this point) as a young bi guy, and Jeremy was giving me vibes before he described himself as a committed bachelor, and I have a lot of Feelings about young queer people finding queer mentors.

So far I don't really ship anything, but I'm open to that changing. I'd love to have a ship for it as it goes on.

Greed's whole thing was him screwing up most of the time, though? He murdered his own friend and was wishy-washy till he died.

I agree that Ling's stuff was a bit pushed back, but I honestly can't think of other routes that would have been as impactful. He was after the stone. There was a crazy group that had the stones. It was why he was in the country. Even if the Greedling thing didn't happen, he would still clash with that group.

I always assumed Lavitz->Albert was intended to be implied by canon, at least one-sidedly? They literally had his mom or somebody be like Lavitz when are you gonna finally find a nice girl and get married and he was just like er um er ah duties and Albert and duties and extremely uninterested in any women, and they had a whole implied "I'm just a commoner so not good enough" dynamic

I remember loling though when the implied Rose-Dart-Shana triangle ends up with Rose randomly having been in love with Dart's dad the whole time? Wtf lol

First of all, a Gangsta. Secret!!!!

Second of all, go ahead and just write it -- a few scenes if that's all you get. Even if those scenes are one rejecting the other (I totally get you re: character A is rejecting B from another fandom). But why not? As you said, there's at least one other person out there here for it, and you never even have to post. I really get the whole I want to but I'm not doing anything about it. It sucks. The one thing that I kind of turn to is just to start with something small. Whether it's compiling a "soundtrack" to half the fic on my head, or just jotting down a few scenes/interactions. Granted, I struggle to even do that sometimes, and I rarely finish but still!!!


Do you know why you're torn/stuck between wanting and inaction? I'm just (irrationally) afraid of making something. I'm working on being okay with things not being beautiful or perfect or anything. I think I'm a way I used to be freer about my writing when I was younger. I didn't feel like I needed permission, and now I'm learning how not to ask it and just go.

I hope you write your dream fic (or find someone who'd be willing to write it for you!)
