Hm. It seems to me that setting a single film up as a manifesto for homosexuality in general is always going to be doomed to failure. I don't think that it's something that this film sets out to do and I don't think that's what it is.

I also think it's probably more reasonable and a better way of approaching art not to approach the movie in such a simplistic way where it's reduced to the morality of the actions of the characters. That doesn't mean that you have to ignore your feelings about underage relationships, but it means also looking at the other things that are happening in the movie, and the other aspects of the characters besides their age. Let things be complex!
