Same here, OP, but sometimes if I go a long time without watching something (like two years or more), I'll feel a similar rush when I rewatch it.

As we age we lose the ability to feel that rush of discovery we used to feel. Even new fandoms and new favorite things fail to spark that same rush. Getting old sucks.

For the longest time, I thought the same thing, but then I watched an anime recently and holy cow, it made me feel like I was fourteen again. It gave me the same feeling of wonderment and I just wanting to talk about it with my friends and create content again.

Oh same. I keep thinking about this lately. The initial thrill of being utterly obsessed with something is so fun and I haven't felt it in ages. :^(
