The OP could see Kara as the 'messed-up psycho girl' who can't possibly have a normal relationship with anyone and doesn't realise that normal relationships aren't all sunshine and roses and shitting rainbows and kittens.

I have no problem with any of the relationships in BSG because they're so naturally written (I'm convinced the writers could pair someone with a mutant penguin and somehow they'd manage to make it work)
