109 - Yes. Dale sometimes puts the emphasis on the wrong syllable, but his readings are interesting. Fry's reading is a little dry and boring IMO.

HELLO, FELLOW FAN.

Oh, man. I first found them through my school library. At first, all I read were Goosebumps, too, then I read one Spooksville book and I got hooked.

I almost have the entire series (there's 24), save for the last one (I attempted to get it online, but omfg they sell it for 25 bucks). Some of them new, some of them from second hand book stores, and the rest, second hand from amazon.com. And one of them from that goddamn amazon ended up being torn at the last 6 chapters or so. I really wanna know what happened (it's Creature in the Teacher).

UGH, PREACH. I think it's gotten slightly better recently -- or maybe just in my fandoms -- but it's still there, and it's irritating. There are a lot of awesome female characters. There's NO NEED to be vicious towards them just because they are female and might pose a risk in canon to your OTP. Really? REALLY really? There's no logic to that.

Look. There are parts of fandom that are incredibly misogynistic, and parts that are full of feminism. And we're all products of a patriarchal and sexist culture, and it seeps into our thinking. But in my experience, it's the het parts of fandom (that I've been in) that are more misogynistic. There's nothing about slash that's inherently anti-woman. Try finding a more welcoming place

I thought it was pretty obvious that the problem was some of the fans, not the slash itself, actually. The kind that will only write about a female character if they need a villainous bitch, and who otherwise would prefer if she doesn't exist.

There are more of those fans in slash fandom than in het fandom.

101. I think I am annoyed in the lack of prominence of the female characters, although The Incredibles and Wall E were slightly better. I am kind of miffed that their first movie with a female main character has her as a princess. Could we have a lead female who isn't a princess please?

Also I am bothered by the genderizing of Wall-E and Eve. They are robots and don't have a freaking gender.

103. Dude, I hear you. Having only guy friends is not really a badge of honor to be honest.

To add on to that, because I thought of something else. While I don't see much of a problem for disliking individual female characters. I do question the people who have a tendency to dislike all or even most female characters. I also don't like how these characters are constantly made fun of or criticized using highly genderized insults or critiques that somehow the fact that it is the character's "femaleness" that makes them unlikable, where it becomes very apparent to a lot that the character's gender is a big reason in their dislike.

I also think it is hypocritical for certain groups of fandom to downgrade women for being ill written or flat and two dimensional while at same time glorifying male characters who are just ill written, flat and two dimensional.
