Yeah that, and there is the other criticism that when fans dislike a male character and demean that male character for acting uber feminine or like a "pussy". Yeah, classy act you got there fandom

To be honest, sometimes that's unavoidable. For example, a waify, wussy princess character is instantenously made a lot more interesting and less offensive if it's a boy.

Uh, sorry to break it to you, princess, but unless you have an SRY mutation that causes androgen insensitivity syndrome, you are one of us terrible, bitchy, double-X-chromosomed monsters.
Unless she's transsexual... I've met a couple of trans women during the period of my transition who are... let's just say not very well adjusted about either masculinity OR femininity.

It's rare, but it happens.
