So much yes. It would be a vast understatement to say that he changed the course of my life - I would undoubtedly not be where I am now if not for Cosmos (book and show), Dragons of Eden, Broca's Brain...I owe him so much not only for being THE springboard into my successful career in science, but also introducing me to the idea of humanism, an ideology that has served me well in the best and worst times. Whenever I got frustrated with the difficulties of my graduate program or with the (what I perceive to be) idiocies of astrology, anti-space program sentiments, or political hostility towards science, I would take a deep breath, sit down, and read some Demon-Haunted World. It never fails.

I wish I could have met him. I like to think that I would have made him proud.
