I...don't understand why. Is it because it's a religious-influenced? Or do you view it as a mother-child thing?

If it's the latter, I'm dearly sorry, but how in the world can you gloss over the Messaih-Who-Will-Save-Us-All subtext and cut straight to "THEY ARE LIKE MOTHER AND CHILD, ICKY ICKY SHIP ZUTARA IS BETTER!"

It's both actually. Comparing Katara to Mary reeeaaaally squicked me out. I mean, I knew since episode one that Aang was the Messiah figure of the Avatar universe. I was fine with that. In fact, I liked Kataang all the way up until that episode. But seeing Katara as the Virgin Mary? That killed it for me.

Oh, and if you actually read my comment, instead of acting butthurt that I don't ship Kataang, you'll notice that I didn't say that I ship Zutara. Good job, you just sounded like a presumptuous twat (= . I don't ship Aang or Katara with anybody, if you must know.
