I was born in 1976 and I barely remember the 1980s so obviously if you're younger than that you have nothing to be nostalgic about.

I was born in 1982 and I remember a great deal of things from that era quite clearly, so... nope.

You were 14 years old when the 80s ended. It's not entirely normal that you barely remember your childhood.

NAYRT but... it's not? I mean, I have a few specific memories but like, I don't remember like all of it, or long stretches. That was a long time ago.

Yeah, most people aren't going to remember what they did every day, but they could definitely tell you about clothes, toys, music, etc. that were cool, big events that people their age talked about, bits and pieces of what they learned in school or what people did with their friends for fun -- in other words, the kind of stuff that people feel nostalgia over.

It's really not normal to have next to no memory of your childhood.

da and yeah, exactly. I remember the shows I watched, the toys I played with, the music that I listened to, that kind of thing. (I distinctly remember huddling around a cassette player with a bunch of friends in about third grade listening to "Uptown Girl" and thinking that Billy Joel was the coolest thing ever, for example.)

They filmed the "Uptown Girl" video at my former friend's grandfather's gas station on the Bowery in New York City. She met Christie Brinkley and the Bee Gees also happened to stop by and say hello. Unfortunately, she no longer has the Polaroid photos.

That's really cool!

Every time I hear that song I think back to playing with my Fisher Price main street toy when I was little, 'cause it always seemed like whenever I was playing with that, that song would be on. I do like the song, though, so...
