I'm more surprised that there are actually people demanding you share your food with them, no matter the context.

I will willingly share my food and drink with my friends not aksing anything in return, or with a friend-of-friend if they swap some around but once at a fancy bar I had someone I didn't know yet, who wasn't ordering anything themself, ask for a try of my drink--which was small and over-priced and I was like? no???
(I got to know this person a bit better later and I never managed to like them. They kept scaring me for reasons I could never entirely explain.)

I am perfectly willing to share my food voluntarily but as soon as someone DEMANDS it I will stuff my face with everything, even if I'm not hungry anymore.
