Exactly. When I pointed out, e.g., how utterly impossible it is for 3 miniscule helicarriers to target 100,000 teeny-tiny people on the vast surface of our planet using directed energy weapons that would bust up from diffraction and interference around objects and be totally ineffective, I got "oh, hand-wavy MCU science, just go with it" even though no, I can't go with it. It's stupid. It's impossible. Just let Hydra try and fail like the monumentally inept buffoons they are.

The plot would have proceeded in the exact same way regardless because it's not like Cap & co were gonna go, "Oh they're going to fall short of their 100,000 goal? Well then let those helicarriers get airborne and let's see what happens, lol."

But it wouldn't work. At all. You can't target individuals from 40K feet. It's absurd.
