There's a lot of rumors about abuses he at least turned a blind eye to while he was showrunner before, and he's rather noted for his treatment of Martha in the show and well... Suddenly pairing her and Mickey up in the last episode of Ten's run as married despite none of this happening on-screen, and Martha previously being engaged to a white man who's never really addressed. It left a rather sour note in my mouth, especially since the only reason I can see to pair Mickey and Martha is they're both black???

To expand on the whole "treatment of Martha" there's how she was pining after the Doctor and finally just left, only to come back and make mistakes she really shouldn't have in the episode she does where she gets fucking kidnapped so the Doctor can save the day again even though... Martha should have known better??? The actions she took to get kidnapped make no sense for her previously established character and the way she talks to the Doctor is just, "I'm totes over you but not really." She gets one badass moment in her entire run in the aborted timeline, but that's pretty much it, the rest of the time she felt like she was meant to highlight how In Love the Doctor was with Rose.

(And also he's the one who came up with the stupid Metacrisis Doctor and Doctor Donna, completely fucking erasing all of her character development for shock value. And all the weird shit with The Master and YANA and the Master eating people and just... He's a mess of a writer.)

Mickey's actor had 20 women accuse him of sexual misconduct and with that many women, it's likely to have happened. There's no way Davies couldn't have known with that many problems around one actor.

Davies overall allowed a very toxic atmosphere on set but people don't fucking care because he made the Hot Ten Doctor.

Because general response is clearly what matters. Maybe stop stanning abuse enablers just because you like their work.

And an abuse enabler is the best case scenario for being what Davies is.
