I get where you’re coming from. I’m not a big fan of King Lear, but it has it’s moments.

I am a big fan of the Akira Kurosawa film ‘Ran’ though, which is an adaptation of King Lear set in Sengoku warring period Japan. Kurosawa actually got the inspiration to make the film after reading the history of the daimyo lineage, and being reminded of King Lear. Art imitates life, and life imitates art.
