123. TOTAL FUCKING NIGHTMARE FUEL. I didn't figure out why until years later I found out about Die Dreigroschenoper.

Oh hai McDonald's marketing department, are you aware of the origin of "Mack the Knife" and that maybe, just maybe, you should not base your mascots on serial rapist-murderers? WTF were they thinking?

Wait, but do you know about Threepenny Opera/Die Dreigroschenoper? Because if not—there is a whole musical full of that much awesome. "Mack the Knife" was the song they wrote at the last minute to make the actor happy.

I know Threepenny Opera, I just didn't know it was also called Die Dreigroschenoper, so I didn't recognize that. I actually only seen bits and pieces of it. I also obviously did not seem to realize Mack was spelled with a 'k' in it. I will go back to my corner of fail now.

That is not fail, that is not-entirely-consistent-in-all-translations-from-German. I've seen it more than one way.
