For the sake of the more intelligent, I am saying that it is often impossible to tell which elements of an artist's creations reflect the artist. Anyone who declares any ability to determine the point of view of an artist based on their art WITHOUT the artist's truthful explanation of it is an ignorant neanderthal.
Art don't sell. As the writer, Joss Whedon is being paid to provide content to a story that is determined by the judgement of other people. The ability of an artist to make art that completely clashes with their own personal philosophies and have people BELIEVE it makes them a good artist. You CANNOT determine what he thinks based on how he writes.
