Like one of the people above me, this is one of those cases where I hold the book and the movie as two separate entities. I love them both, but for very different reasons, and as an adaptation, the movie falls down a lot. Particularly in the latter half, and I also miss Sophie's magic so much. Also her temper, and the much more knock-down-drag-out nature of her and Howl's relationship, and the whole little subplot with her sisters and Michael and Wizard Sulliman.

The movie is just plain gorgeous, though, and it's great to watch when you just want a big sweeping pretty thing.
