I agree with all of that. But when you ask a stranger for a hug you do so with the knowledge that they might say no. Since a person can't say no to unwanted physical contact in public without people like OP deciding that that's what makes them a prick, many people do feel social pressure when someone puts them in that situation. Now, I don't think that Kesha had any sinister motives in asking for a hug on camera, but it really was her bad and the idea that the person she wanted to hug is a dick because he didn't let her down gently enough is pretty gross.
