I can't write RPF ships that don't include the RL partners if they have kids because then it feels like I'm trying to uncreate the kids, which is a turnoff.

Right, like, I don't write RPF (though sometimes those actors be flirtin') but both of my faves are dads multiple times over and it's a huge part of their lives. (I also ship them with their IRL spouses too soo)

Yeah. I mean get it; when my fictional faves become parents in canon, I generally opt to ignore canon and read/write fics where that didn't happen. But if I dropped every character who became a parent in canon I would've had to drop just so many characters over the years.

I sorta get that, I probably wouldn't like that very much either - but I never had an rpf pairing in where the kids weren't already at least teenagers lol
