The point is to help the process along and make it so you don't need to use so much toilet paper.

I get the point, I just don't see why it's so !! for people when you have to have all this extra stuff (some kind of washcloth, a towel, soap).

A baby wipe (that no, you don't flush), does the job just as well without all the fuss and *also* cuts down on tp use.

But also makes more waste elsewhere. Water can be filtered and recycled, that baby wipe will go to a landfill.

Da - you don’t need all the extra stuff, it’s just water & then tp. I’ve found them useful in cutting down on you and very little fuss to use, but I also don’t think to carry baby wipes!

Sa - erm… cutting down on *tp*, that is l.

I hate Charmin-like tp and buy the cheapest, single-ply stuff i can find. 'Drying off' my whole butt with that stuff isn't going to work (I'm assuming the bidet isn't so narrow that only your butthole gets wet). I would use a lot more tp drying off. A single baby wipe is portable and completely fixes the issue of getting clean.

“I assume”

Maybe stop doing that?

Ayrt- they don’t wet your whole butt, at least the ones I’ve used… It’s not like a faucet on full-blast, it’s just a brief narrow stream of water. I grew up being taught if I’m at home, to wet a piece of tp in the sink, then use that wet piece and then a dry piece, much as you do a baby wipe. To me, similar feel and amount of moisture.

Personally I would feel super guilty if I went through several baby wipes per day. I would maybe be okay with one per day for cleaning my ass, but tbh, as someone with a non-hairy ass I just don't feel like I need it.

I do like to use one after working out, if I don't have time to immediately jump in the shower, though. And if I were having sex on the regular I might like them for before the act. So I don't have anything against baby wipes, I just can't see using them more than once per day--and preferably less than that.

Okay, I'm genuinely baffled. Like, how much toilet paper do you guys normally use where you could cut the amount down by any significant amount?

Creepy animated Charmin Bear amounts, apparently. All while living on ice cream, salmonella and beer.

A messy poo I generally want to wipe at least three times until I feel okay putting my underpants back on. And then I still feel icky until I shower.

A good bidet rinse cuts that down to one wipe, and I don't feel the same level of disgust even though I know I will need to properly wash later.

So for me it's not necessarily a huge savings in toilet paper, but it makes me much happier overall.

But do you have messy poos more than once in a long while? That's the part I don't get.

Bio female and I’ve only run into them in the occasional hotel, but they cut down use for me around my period with what I’m guessing is a medium-to-heavy flow. Also helpful if you’re sensitive to the toilet paper being used (or the toilet paper’s just cheap).

I'm kinda wondering, too. And...how much poo is there all over you that you need that much? This entire thread has opened whole worlds I don't wanna contemplate.

Exactly. Once in a while is one thing, but if your poops are that nasty on the regular, that's something you really need to be seeing a doctor about because something's not right there.

They said nothing about this being on the regular. Y’all are reaching for literally no reason just because Google was too hard for you and now you can’t admit your ignorance.

it's really ironic that you're showing your ignorant ass all over a thread about cleaning asses :)
