the first episode is the two older siblings getting caught by the dad almost kissing and they have to explain that it's not what it looks like (it is though, it's just that apparently the sister wants to learn how to kiss and so she asks her brother)

Oh my god, what the fuck? That's. I. Wow.

That just feels like the writer was indulging their incest kink under the flimsy guise of a "teachable moment."

tbf, it never quite gets to those levels again, although the family is always very enmeshed. the closest it get after that is ruthie dancing to ~hip hop in what i think is meant to be a provocative nature, which her dad walks in on, and the editing makes that scene WAY WEIRDER than it needed to be.
