I DID IT! I TALKED TO THEM AND THEY WERE VERY NICE. I spoke to them on my story and then read one of theirs that I actually kind of liked a lot and left kudos and a comment and we chatted for a bit and I was like 'I know people have been mean to you before but never stop writing okay?' and they said 'I will never give up!' and I'm just like :'D

I don't blame you for loving them, OP. I can't really understand why adults are mad at someone who's not an adult for not bringing adult sensibilities or skill to writing. It's as easy as not reading once they realize that they don't like this person's stuff.

i've definitely been on the side of being super annoyed at someone putting out bad fanworks or doing fandom wrong or whatever, but yknow i'm also 100% with you and this is a very cute secret.
i remember how proud and bold i was about my bad art when i was young (god i gave my grandma a printout of my emo poems as a gift) and i miss that kind of fearlessness dearly

Why are adults, who are probably closer to near 40 and beyond than 30, yelling at a literal child for something they can ignore? "Oh, I figured out this person may be an eighth grader, let's be mean to her anyway!" Pathetic.

Agreed, it's super grinchy. And if all those ficlets aren't actually chapters of one larger work, it's totally valid for them to be posted as individual stories. The person that yelled at them for that has issues.

Right? The kid's using the archive the way it's meant to be used, for fuck's sake. Not their fault AO3 still hasn't rolled out a block or blacklist function.

Yeah, I've seen fics like this - prolific authors post a ton of very short, very bad, very OOC fic and can't even write a summary that sounds appealing - but I just scroll on by. Some people like to make a big deal about how writers need constructive criticism to help them improve, but A) this doesn't sound like constructive criticism, and B) the teenager who wrote embarrassingly stupid, shitty fic is going to realize, eventually, that the fic was embarrassingly stupid and shitty without any "help."

Op, you shouldn't make secrets about yourself. Or if you do, then don't be so obvious about how your oppressed genius is so totally really awesome.

This is just pathetic.

The secret makes it clear that the writer is not a genius, just an enthusiastic teen who obviously has little experience. OP just happens to like the fics and the writer’s energy anyways. And think the older fans should cut the kid a break instead of yelling at them.

You chose to basically ignore the entirety of the secret just so you can be the sole voice of opposition to everyone else. If this is an attempt at trolling, it’s remarkably lazy. And dumber than the average trolling attempt, with even less worth.

(And I definitely think you’re going to respond to anyone calling attention to your bs with “hai OP”, so bring on your predictable response.)
