Just are a microwave burrito and it doesn't feel like my stomach is agreeing with it. Going to my sister's this weekend for last minute shopping. The pair of flats I got are just not breaking in so need to find something else. Also need a light jacket since it looks like it will be chilly in DC. So excited.

I think I'm finally gonna commission a fic. And frankly, if I really like it, I've got like 7 more to request lol

I finally began tackling the cleaning stuff I have to do today, so tonight is all about self-care for congratulating myself on getting motivated (even though no one else that lives here is helping me do a damn thing). I will have ice cream and watch movies all damn night. :)

Today my new (and first ever purchased rather than handed down) lawnmower arrived and it's really sad how excited I am about it. I am actually kind of looking forward to having to mow because I used the same model on my side yard last week (because my dad got one after doing all the research and brought it over) and it was sooooo smooth and easy.

That after having a one-on-one Zoom meeting for 45 minutes this morning was enough adulting for me today, so after finishing my work week with that I just lay around the rest of the day trying to advance in one mobile game, caught two shinies I'd been after in Pokemon Go, and just now pre-ordered (barely) Metroid Dread because holy crap the reviews are uniformly glowing and Super Metroid is one of my all-time faves and superficially it looks like that but shinier. Hopefully I'll be able to play it; my reflux has been so bad the last couple years that I can barely get by without having at least one hand shoved physically deep into my guts to keep it at bay, which makes anything other than mobile gaming a little difficult.

I ordered some garlic for planting. I'll get them in the dirt this weekend.

I had some elephant garlic in my dinner tonight, and it was mild and delicious.

Music garlic, it won't be mild but it'll take in the unpredictable madness that is my hometown's weather. I hope!

The fucking Blue Angels were flying around being loud as hell all afternoon and I hate it

I made pulled pork in my crockpot today. I only added black pepper, liquid smoke, and a pinch of salt and it turned out so well. I served it for dinner tonight with mac and cheese and an everything bagel salad, and it was absolutely delicious. There were macarons for dessert but I was thinking when I make it next time I'll make homemade cobbler.

That sounds like an absolutely delicious meal. Well Done!

I'm sorry, what? Like, you chopped up everything bagels and ate them with dressing??

Got my inside cat back from the vet and I have to give her liquid prednisone for at least a week, argh. That stuff is so nasty I threw up my first dose at the ER on Monday, and no one had to sit on me, pry my mouth open, and stick a syringe down my throat.

She fell off the exam table pawing at her mouth and heaving like she was ejecting a hairball when the vet tech got the first dose into her, so I hope I'm not back at the ER getting my fingers reattached next week.

And I hope it helps her allergies; she's insanely allergic.

I have to do this too, for like, the third time, and I wasn't able to give her the dose last night and I haven't been able to give her any today either she just BOLTS when she sees me like I try to pet her and she's terrified of me. It's so hard, it's so stressful. Like, kitty, I just wanna help you.

So, I understand.

AYRT--I get that, and I worry that soon mine with have the same response whenever I pick her up and carry her to the bathroom (because there's less space for her to bolt.) I got most of her first dose in I think. Five more days of doses every morning, then every other day for a few days.

Good luck with your kitty. I can't really blame them for wanting to avoid it, it's so bitter it tastes like poison.

Mine hates being picked up in general, so I always had to wrap her in a towel and hold her down while opening her mouth and squirting the stuff in. Kinda hard with two hands! And now she runs at the sight of a towel.
