Tbh general etiquette applies: make it about the fic, and not about you.

"That was so hot, this or that scene was so sexy, character was so sexy in this, etc." = mostly about the fic, and fine. "Let me describe in detail what effects this had upon my genitalia, and what I did to myself in response" = mostly about you, not necessarily welcome, TMI

I don't think I've ever imagined it as the characters singing to each other (duet style), but I've definitely had the songs play as the theme song/part of the soundtrack for a scene of fic I'm trying to write.

No need to describe in explicit detail what the fic did for you.

"Hot damn! That was really well written" or "that moment in the scene when they both... perfection!" Things like that, especially if it's something you really like to see and maybe don't see in other places. Just commending the author on their skill and the fact that you found certain moments particularly hot and well written I think are enough. Like...we all know if you cared enough to comment, it probably got you where you wanted to be. We don't need signed proof lol.

Maybe finding a forum or something where it is expected or desired to talk about that kind of thing and make a thread for it recommending the author's work? If you're really set on sharing that level of detail (which I get wanting to share your excitement [insert hey!allyoupeople.gif], if it's really good but at the same time...beyond stating that something got you hot & bothered or that something really worked for you, is it necessary to divulge all that to the author?). That level of commentary might be beyond what the author might like. Read the other comments. See the direction and if there's any interaction from the author. General safety guidance when commenting: the author just needs to know that you liked and appreciated their work. Tell them it made you happy (if it did). For smutty works, they know you probably got off. They don't need confirmation.
