As a Gen X'er, I totally agree, but what can you do.

Me, I'm just watching a depressingly substantial chunk of our generation do its damndest to win Herman Cain Awards.

Just read the relevant Wikipedia entry about that.

GenX being ignored is the most GenX thing we have.

As a Gen X’er, I don’t agree at all. We created some of the best and most notable art of the late 20th Century/early 21st Century. Most of the Millennial and Gen Z activists are still trying to emulate the social activism we started, way more than they are older activists of the 60s.

I think the “generation war” is bullshit, and wish people would stop fighting over when they were born as if that’s a universally superior or inferior experience unto itself. But I do still feel like pride in your generation’s accomplishments falls outside of that. As it’s just a celebration, not a mark of general superiority. And Gen X’ers have a lot to feel proud of.

In terms of not feeling catered to for long enough, that’s subjective. But we’re already stereotyped as less demanding as younger generations supposedly are anyway.
