Is the casual dismissal of women's abilities (and women accepting it) - that prevalent in SK society? And the violence toward women by men that nobody seemed to care about enough to stop?

That, in 'Squid Game', was really off putting.

Judging by the occasional news I hear about women's protests in the last couple of years, SK is deeply misogynistic and there are a lot of problems. :(

Not that anywhere outside of Scandinavia is looking too good these days.

Yeah, there's still a lot of misogyny and sexism going on in South Korea. It's still a rather patriarchal society, and though I feel millennial/Gen Z women are more progressive, there's been an increase in a Red Pill/Men's Right Activist-esque movement with young men in South Korea. A lot of incels/alpha males terrified that their "top dog" status is under threat due to women and The Gays wanting more rights and representation.

Yuck.
I find that attitude so incredibly gross and ridiculous. Just one more thing that makes me feel like most men need to just go live in a cave somewhere and let the rest of just get on with it.
