Today and yesterday have been super hot and dry and I wilt like an unwatered plant. I spent most of my day napping after not sleeping well last night, but I just gave my flea-ridden cat a bath and only got a couple really nasty puncture wounds for my trouble, heh.

With the amount of hydrogen peroxide and iodine I need to buy, people are gonna think I'm an antivaxxer. (And I have cattle drench ivermectin I bought for my chickens when I couldn't find the parrot stuff, even.)

I was still finding live fleas when I combed her afterward, but I had a bowl of hot soapy water to dip the comb in and got a lot of them that way, and changed out her towel on top of the fridge where she sleeps for a clean blanket. If this and upcoming cooler weather don't help, I'm gonna ask my vet about trying a different flea med.

The one she's on is good for three months, but there's another one meant for cats and dogs that my vet and my old vet have used on hens that were being eaten alive by poultry fleas and mites that cleared them up entirely, even when their flockmates still had some on them to act as a reservoir.

Now I need to do laundry, including all my towels, and go for a walk.

Tomorrow I'll go to the plant nursery and run some errands, maybe work in the garden since it'll be way cooler, and put on a Halloween movie and do some housecleaning.
