[Potential tw: depression/disordered eating]

It seems like the Hip New Way to show platonic affection in fic (and irl) is to watch what people eat and encorage/demand people eat more. Maybe it's because forgetting meals is gaining popularity as a signifier of depression, maybe it's part of more general move towards care taking.

I fucking hate it.

The thought of people watching, studying and remembering what I eat makes my skin crawl. And keeping track of my roommates/friends meal patterns? It sounds exhasting and condescending and infantilizing.
