When I first started writing it I was convinced that my fic was a masterpiece and everyone in my tiny fandom would love it. Now I'm halfway done and I'm so wrapped up in self-doubt that I just want to finish it, even if nobody cares.

I will read and enjoy and be emotionally turned on by all sorts of smut written in all sorts of ways. But when it comes to getting actually turned on, only the filthiest and most blatant smut will do the trick. Not extreme, mind you, just filthy and blatant. I need lots and lots of very explicit descriptions of genitals throbbing and swelling and spurting and aching and leaking and milking and gushing and what the fuck ever else you’ve got to throw in there.

The only stuff that actually turns me on is often so filthily descriptive that most people probably consider it bad smut, and it would definitely be broadly consider bad writing.

I feel like the only person in fandom who has a low libido. I know I can’t really be the only one, but it often feels like I am. :(

I still can't believe that people think that Michael Jackson is guilty in the modern day. One of the most heavily-investigated celebrities, and yet nothing was found to prove him guilty.

I used to think he was guilty when I was a child when news of the trial used to be on the news 24/7, but now that I think that he's innocent, I really find all the pedophile jokes in TV afterwards depressing.

As a woman and feminist I should really hate the core concept of the Gor books, but I secretly think they are kinda hot. B!S: I sometimes fantasize about being a woman in Gor.

I miss the point in time in fandom where just about every second fanfic was one where at least one main character got their gender magically changed and the story was about them learning to enjoy their new gender. It was like every fic was a Ranma fic. I feel a little sad that we'll never get fics like that again.

In general I think people are way too picky about plotholes nowadays. The tendency to nitpick and then think some media is ~bad is just annoying and unenjoyable.

But I also think that creators can be very lazy about their worldbuilding, especially on tv, and it does ruin characterization and flow.

I don't know how to find balance.

Feels weird getting into Fushigi Yuugi so late in the game here in 2021 and then sticking around for Miaka/Tasuki FemDom of all things.

It’s a hilariously small dream in the grand scale of things, but one of my biggest dreams is to be part of a fandom I adore (I don’t care the size)… and then write the fan fiction everyone in the fandom swoons over and recommends to their friends/fellow fans.

B/S: I’ve been working on a fic for a burgeoning fandom for over a year now… and I’m hoping when I finish and post it I can make my dream come true.

Sure, I probably won't be visited by a monster needing extra cash anytime soon, but you never know.

I remember absolutely nothing about Clarissa Explains It All with the exception of the opening credits theme which still gets stuck in my head all the time.

b!s: I'm a little weirded out by the Eliot romance. Not because I didn't like it, but because the showrunner was all over twitter saying the OT3 was "safe." Most fans didn't consider the OT3 semi-platonic.

The E.M.M.I.s are, I'm pretty sure, supposed to send terrified chills down your spine when you hear them chirping and clambering about trying to locate you. And it is scary, gameplay-wise! But those sounds are so weirdly pleasant to listen to that it approaches ASMR for me.

That's not really the secret part of things, though, even if it's a bit weird.

The REAL secret is that I'm seriously attracted to the E.M.M.I.s.

What the HELL, self.

I've always been opposed to age gap ships. Probably not to the point of being an "anti", exactly, but pretty disgusted by them, especially if one of the characters is a minor or just barely beyond it.

But now that I'm caught up on the MSQ of FFXIV, I have one. I've been denying it for a while, but the most recent patch finally sold me completely on Estinien/Alphinaud.

I don't know what to do with myself. I'm so conflicted. I really love this ship and I'm disgusted that I love it, I can't stop myself from hating myself for it. This hurts and it sucks; I don't know how to stop it. Even worse, I know my friends would drag me across the coals for it, so I can't even get it off my chest.

I just want to enjoy this ship.

Spoiler for No Time To Die.

I was disappointed at the finale, because when I saw Bond in the Heracles pond and he was bleeding, I assumed his DNA was in the mix and he wouldn't realise and would go and hug the blue eyed child that 'might' be his and watch her face blister as she died horribly in front of him, thus finding out for sure she was his and bringing great angst...

The actual outcome was rather anticlimactic after that.

(Sb I'm not supposed to want blue eyed babies to have their faces explode)

Fandom is SK8 The Infinity

I watched SK8 for the first time. Went in expecting to ship the mains, came out shipping Adam with everyone. Whoops?

I hate Yashahime. I think it's terribly written and paced. The new characters are bland and the old characters are treated terribly. I pretty much like nothing about this show, except Kirinmaru. The show is such trash, and I would've have stopped watching long ago if it wasn't for him. I want a spinoff about him, the great dog demon, Sesshomaru's mom, and other daiyokai.

N!S: Moroha is cool too, but she doesn't save the show for me.

Ever since i watched LOTR around 2 decades ago, i had a crush on karl urban. Him as Eomer, rugged look, deep voice, long hair, slight beard, soldier? Chef's kiss.
In Thor Ragnarok? Eh, bald is not my type.
Then I recently watched The Boys. And bam! Celebrity Crush is fully back. Even slightly wrinkled, sun weathered skin, darkened hair, he's still effing hot. Only downside: Short Hair :(

[Potential tw: depression/disordered eating]

It seems like the Hip New Way to show platonic affection in fic (and irl) is to watch what people eat and encorage/demand people eat more. Maybe it's because forgetting meals is gaining popularity as a signifier of depression, maybe it's part of more general move towards care taking.

I fucking hate it.

The thought of people watching, studying and remembering what I eat makes my skin crawl. And keeping track of my roommates/friends meal patterns? It sounds exhasting and condescending and infantilizing.

I love it when celebs secretly attend cons in cosplay.
