I tend not to read gender swapped FICA because they just...idk. I'd have to be in the mood for them and 9:10 times I just want some MC/OX shit. When I want F/F, I go looking for it, ya know?

The only time I really enjoyed gender swapped anything (in recent memory) was those girls who did a YouTube skit/episode as Dean and Sam because it was REALLY good! They kept them in character, I had honestly wished they kept doing more/made it a real thing. I was so down.

Okay, it's from 8 years ago and I just remember enjoying it, so full disclosure it might have actually been shit lol but I think it was good!

I mean, yes, but, the amount of F/F is smaller, the number of ships is very small, and M/M ships often have better writers

There are times where genderswapped versions of M/M ships capture a dynamic that's extremely rare and uncommon in straight-up F/F

Wow, it has never occurred to me to look for genderswapped M/M -> F/F fics, since I almost always come across M/M -> M/F genderswaps. Thanks for the suggestion!

AYRT

You make a good point. I'll say that the F/F ships I'm into tend to have pretty decent writers, and the likelihood of good M/M writers is likely due to sheer size of the fandom or pairing. But what you mentioned -- that's a really interesting dynamic to explore -- if you have any links?

Mainly because I tend not to read gender swap fics.
