A lot of people are hammering on the socialization angle, and like... As someone trans...

Sometimes I want to just write queer as shit fic where I make the leads into lesbians because I'm a lesbian, and have gender not change things because I'm sick of living in a world where my life is defined by it so heavily.

I mean... go for it, as long as you're not mad when someone calls that an OC and says you're projecting your id onto it as an author because they'd be correct.

Nothing wrong with that, fic writers do that all the time. But nothing wrong with people not wanting to read it either when what they're interested in is canon or things closer to canon including canon worlds where that would/should change things.
