I do think it's "hilarious" (in a possibly very calculated way) that they picked two popular Superboy/Robin ships and made one of them bi EACH.
I would have loved to see Jon and Damian maybe figure stuff out together, but noooo... (Also still mad about the age up.)
Ofc Kon/Tim was also a fav ship once upon a time, so sigh. Still not unhappy about the development, though. Bernard at least seems pretty cute from what I've seen. I haven't read comics in ages.

Surely they're doing it on purpose, right? And I can be annoyed about that? But in general I'm still glad. But also, I feel like Kon's getting replaced and I don't understand what's going on.

Kon IS being replaced, and DC hasn't been subtle about it. I think the only thing that has saved Kon from complete oblivion is that he appears in Teen Titans and Youmg Justice so he's still better known than Jnn among the bigger public. (I mean, mainstream STILL thinks that the gay Superman is Clark so...)

I have no idea why current TPTB seem to hate Kon. I've been told by someone on tumblr that it's due to copyright as when they use Kon they have to pay the Siegels for him, but that makes NO sense, asn Jerry Siegel had ZERO to do with Kon's creation. his Superboy was Superman when he was a boy. So really, I have no clue (I do kind of hate Jon fans who act as if Jon is the ONLY valid Superman Son just because he has a female mother who happens to be Superman's wife and treat Kon as an annoying add-on or, as one idiot once told me "Well, he's not really Superman-s son. He's more like... an adopted kid. So he can't be Superman")

But yeah, DC loves replacing characters. It sometimes ends up with the replaced characters being massively screwed over(like Hal Jordan, although I don’t really care for him personally anyway). But in cases like Kon, they’re just trying to faze him out. In both cases, they don’t care that fans don’t like this.

I’m still salty over the writer who screwed over Wally West all those years ago, because he was a boomer who didn’t want anyone else besides Barry Allen to be the Flash. And it was right as the Young Justice cartoon came out and made Wally more mainstream popular than ever. DC didn’t care for years until they undid the decision.

I just hate how DC treats the younger, frequently former sidekick characters as disposable like this. Kon deserves so much better!

Pre-reboot Tim was always my favorite and I ADORED his and Dick's brotherly relationship and now Damian has kidna taken that place. I'm annoyed that they apparently can't write two close brotherly relationships at the same time?
(I haven't really touched comics since the reboot which happened ages ago and I think they rebooted it again at some point?)
