Yeah. I mean, I always found Reno and the Turks hilarious, but they were tempered with the dark, pretty fucked up humour that pervaded the whole game. AC's humour had all the slapstick and none of the people dying or weird shit. =/

Oh hell yes. I played FF7 when AC had gotten out, since I wanted to just take the plunge and DO it already, plus I wanted to know the background to the movie I would be seeing. And seeing Reno drop the WHOLE FUCKING PLATE and get NO payback for it just... made me boggle. This was the guy everyone was creaming their pants about? THIS? Seeing him as comic relief in the movie was just WEIRD.

Well, I can't pretend to have ever played the original game, as my parents wouldn't let me have a game system at all when I was a kid and it was out, but yeah, I'm aware there's more to him than just his AC personality. XD IT ONLY MAKES HIM SEXIER.

Well, unfortunately, not everyone is as privileged as the blessed elitists; as I said, I never had the chance to play the game. That does not mean that I am not allowed to have an opinion on anything concerning it. Also: I am perfectly capable of using resources such as the internet and friends who did play it to find out things that I was not able to witness firsthand - for example, what Reno's personality is like in the game as opposed to in AC. You'll find, if you ask around, that most people accept these as perfectly legitimate sources of information.

Okay, okay, I've seen this argument a million times, and I need to know - I don't play games. I'm terrible at them, and I never get better. It just infuriates me. I do, however, watch people play games. Several times over. They're like interactive movies for me, and it's actually one of my favourite ways to kill a lazy afternoon.

Is my opinion valid? Or do my hands have to be on the controller as it happens before I can expound on a game without an epic smackdown? So many rules to keep clear.
